Zeal
Reliable performance
With herbicide resistance becoming increasingly prevalent in grass and broad-leaved weeds, and the limited herbicide armoury post-emergence, optimising efficacy is vital to rid soils and crops of competing weeds. Improving the delivery and uptake of herbicides to their weed targets is crucial to optimise weed control and can be achieved with a suitable adjuvant. Zeal is an adjuvant specifically designed to optimise the efficacy of oil dispersion formulations by buffering spray water to pH6 and by increasing herbicide placement and uptake into hard to control weeds.
Key situations in which to use Zeal
- With oil dispersion herbicide formulations post-emergence - designed primarily for use with sulphonyl ureas to optimise uptake
- Large or difficult to control weeds where herbicide coverage and uptake can be hard to achieve e.g. bromes, black-grass
- Where herbicide applications may be delayed and need rapid uptake into the leaf
- In cool temperatures which impede herbicide uptake and effectiveness, to kick start activity
- With spray water above pH6, to buffer water and prevent alkaline hydrolysis
Reliable performance
Key benefits
Prevents herbicide breakdown in the spray tank with high pH water - pH6 is ideal for most pesticides
Improves herbicide coverage on the leaf
Improves herbicide uptake into the leaf
Value in use
Increases the availability of herbicide active ingredients for uptake into the leaf at high pH
Increases the number of weeds coming into contact with the herbicide increasing the number of weeds controlled and minimising the number of survivors requiring follow up treatment
Faster the uptake into weed leaves, the faster weeds are controlled
How to use Zeal
- For use with oil dispersion formulations such as sulfonyl urea herbicides
- Add Zeal to the spray tank first after water
Application rate per hectare
0.1% - 0.15% of the final spray volume
